NAS L.emoore

NAS Lemoore

I was born at NAS Lemoore and have lived her most of my life, excluding three duty stations. We always seem to come back here. Lemoore is a farming community meaning that there is a lot of dust, smells, and various other farming related things. I have terrible allergies and my 3 year old is on two allergy medications and that isn't enough. The area is not exciting unless you make it that way. If you are single, there are plenty of clubs in the neighboring cities (about 30 minutes away). If you are married with kids, there are many things to do as well- the zoo, parks, etc. Also Yosemite and the Sequioas are a few hours away. So, is the beach. True Lemoore is not a booming metropolis, but it is a good community and anyone can find something to do. Base housing is great- all housing is ten or less years old. There are a lot of parks on base. Lincoln runs our housing and they are very nice and the service is awesome. We keep receiving bad water notices and many of us buy our water. There are plenty of homes in town to rent or buy as well. Fresno and Visalia (major cities) are about 30- 45 minutes away and they have a lot to offer. Locally (15 minutes away) there is a mall, Walmart, Target, Petsmart, Ross, Old Navy, etc. . The military hospital is like any other- you have doctors who are awesome and some who honestly don't seem to care. The Nex and commisary are nice. It is a nice area. I know a lot of people who have come here and haven't wanted to leave- like my family.
