Poem I wrote my husband in 2003-2004 during his 1st deployment to Iraq.. He is now 22 month from retiring! TO MY SOLDIER To my soldier I know nobody bolder You are my strong shoulder You are strong and kind With an intelligent mind No better can you find Proud are you One of the brave few As one of the brave The path of security you pave Taking out those who misbehave Your love keeps me warm You live your life keeping us from harm Always with a smile and charm Protecting our freedom every day With your life you are willing to pay Not just here or there.but every single day I thank you for the love you show Everyday my love for you grows You are gentle, loving and strong Even at times when I am wrong I long for your warm embrace And can't wait for you to touch my face You are in my heart Every single day we are apart All because of the price you pay Will our children continue to live free in this land of the U.S.A. Because of you my Dear I have nothing EVER to fear Your family is here cheering you on Long after everyone has forgotten and gone The price we all pay with you away We know will end with you home to stay We know you miss us And we miss you too But when you are done with your duty You will return home with us here waiting to embrace you Loving you more and more Awaiting your return more than ever before
