Anyone know any benefits I as his spouse qualify for? Any advice or things I can expect. I have no job, hubby has no job lined up . He had 100% disability but is able to work in some things.

Immediately contact the various military fraternal associations: Disabled American Veterans (DAV), American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW), just to name a few… You will want to read the following web site at Military.com, "How to Pick a Military or Veteran Association" the article is at this web address:

https://www.military.com/spouse/military-life/military-resources/military-and-veteran-associations.html

You will want to be sure the organization has your best interest at heart and they share a common ground, as there are all sorts of service, rank, geographical factors. For example, if your husband was Army, he probably would not have much interest in joining the Navy Mutual Aid Association…

Frankly, I suggest the DAV…

Also, be sure that the organization is registered with the Veterans Administration (you do not want to be taken in by some fake charity/organization). Here is the official list.

https://www.va.gov/vso/VSO-Directory_2013-2014.pdf

Finally, Read your husband's VA Disability Package, it addresses many factors that also affect you and any dependent children

His dependents may be eligible for Dependents' Educational Assistance (Chapter 35). That means the VA may pay your college or trade school tuition or that of your children… For more information on this program, please visit the following website:

http://www.eibill.va.sov/benefits/otherJroerams/dea.html

or call l-888-GIBILL-1 (l-888-442-4551).

His dependents may be eligible for benefits under CHAMPVA. CHAMPVA is a health benefits program in which the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) shares the cost of certain healthcare and supplies with eligible beneficiaries. To be eligible for the CHAMPVA program a dependent must be the spouse or child of a veteran who is permanently and totally disabled from a service-connected disability.

Best of luck to your and yours…
