Apple peels
Apple core
cinnamon--sticks or ground
cloves--ground or hole
Put peel and core from one apple in medium saucepan and fill 3/4 way full with water. Add 1 cinnamon stick or about
1 tbs. ground cinnamon and 1/2 tbs. ground cloves or 1 tbs whole cloves to water. Heat over medium heat. If it starts to boil, you can turn it down, it doesn't need to boil. You just need the aroma. If using hole cinnamon, you can use a knife and lightly scratch the cinnamon to get more aroma out of it.
You can freeze apple peels and core in freezer until ready to use.
Makes a quick smell good for the holidays!
Optional: try orange peels instead of apple. |
