Niki's Apple Bake Pork Chops

Name: Nichole Cook
Base: Gateway Villiage
Recipe: 1 dozen thick center cut boneless pork steaks 3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and cut into fourths 1C sugar 2T cinnamon Trim fat off of pork steaks and place in 9x13 dish. Cut 1/4 apple into thin slices and fan over one pork steak. Repeat until each pork steak has 1/4 apple fanned over it. Evenly spread sugar over all of the pork steaks. Evenly sprinkle cinnamon over the pork. Cover tightly and place in the refrigerator overnight to allow the pork steaks to marinate. Bake 350* until apples are golden brown and pork steaks are done. The marinade will make the pork so tender that it will practically melt in your mouth! Allowing it to set overnight will allow the juices to penetrate into the pork steaks, making even the very center sweet. This dish is like desert and main course all in one, and has been a favorite of my family since the first night I made it up.
