yummy mashed potatoes

Name: jennifer Anderson
Base: fort knox, ky
Recipe: what you'll need to start.... One large potato for each person that will be eating butter garlic salt dried chives start off by washing the potatoes, and cutting out the "eye's". (do not remove the skin) next, slice each potato. the slices should be about 1/4 inch thick. than, cut the slices into 4 pieces. put all the potatoe pieces in a pot, and put enough water in the pot to cover the potatoes. bring water to boiling and continue boiling untill potatoes are soft. (you can check the potatoes by fishing a piece out with a spoon and mushing it with a fork. If it "mushes" easily, they are done boiling.) drain the water out of the pot. for best results, use a masher to mash the potatoes, or you can use a mixing spoon or a beater. now that you have that ready, add the butter. usually I add about 2/3cup for 5-6 potatoes. next, sprinkle about 1T garlic salt, and about 2T chives. (you can add more of any of these, or less for fewer potatoes.) place the cover back on for about two minutes to melt the butter. Last you mash it all together and you have yummt mashed potatoes!! (This tastes good with brown gravy!!)
