Take one box of your favorite cake mix and mix it with 1 stick of melted butter. Divide the mixture in half and press each half into a well buttered cake pan. Bake on 350 for 10 to 13 minutes.
Soften a half gallon of your favorite ice cream. When cake portions have cooled spread the ice cream between cake layers. Wrap the large ice cream sandwich in plastic wrap and place in freezer until firm.
