Base: Los Angeles Air Force Base
Recipe: 1 cup shortening (or 2 sticks margarine) 1 cup sugar 1 cup raisins 1 cup brown sugar 1 cup chocolate chips 1 cup walnuts 1 cup angel flake coconut 2 cups oatmeal 2 cups flour 2 eggs 1 tsp salt 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp vanilla extract Cream sugar, margarine, eggs, and vanilla. In another mixing bowl, mix flour, oatmeal, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Combine the wet and dry ingredients. Add coconut, raisins, chocolate chips and walnuts. Let set while you preset oven to 375 degrees. Drop cookies by tsp into cookie sheet and put into oven to bake for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Great eaten warm or cooled with cold milk or hot coffee. Double the batch as they never last long around teenagers. Recipe created when I was 14 years old.
