Recipe: 4 person recipe For rouladen: 4 top round steak pieces for rouladen! ( long thinly cut steak pieces) ,1 large onion ,3-4 dill pickels ,4 slices of bacon , mustard ,salt ,pepper, toothpicks make sauce from the juice of the rouladen For the sauce: 2-3 carrots(cut in small halves) ,1 small onion (cut in half) ,1 tomato(cut in half) 2 packets of beef gravy mix, 1/2 cup heavy cream(optional) salt, pepper Cut onion and pickels into small squares and put them onto a little plate. Lay out the steak sprinkel with salt and pepper then spread mustard on whole area nice and evenly, lay bacon strip across the steak , then take a hand full of the onions and pickels and spread them across the steak (remeber not to put to much in because they have to be rolled up). Now that everything is in, roll them up.take toothpicks and close the roulade on top and both sides. Add in a big pot a little bit of oil , first fry rouladen on both sides then add water to cover them, put your cut carrots,tomatoe,onion in and let cook on low heat for 1 1/2 hours till meat is tender>After that add gravy mix and heavy cream let simmer for another half hour..You may want to strain sauce( optional). Then serve with noodles , rise , potatoes , or anything you want.
