Flan cake

Name: Frances Bryand
Base: Fort Polk
Recipe: Flan Cake 3/4 c sugar Bunt cake pan Melt in a pot and coat the bottom of the bunt pan with the melted sugar. ( I don't like to add water to the sugar, it gives off a burnt taste to me) Flan mix Add to a blender: 1 8oz package cream cheese 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1 can evaporated milk 5 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla Blend in blender until smooth. Add on top of the sugar in the bunt pan. Mix any flavor store bought cake mix: I used chocolate today, used milk instead of water. You don't have to do that. I follow the instructions to the box. Once mix is done, pour over the flan mix in the bunt pan, sounds crazy, but it works! Cover with foil, bake in a water bath for 1 hour and 30 minutes. The last 30 minutes I remove the foil. When cake is ready, I let the cake rest for about 30 minutes. Then, I turn out cake onto a foil sheet over the cake carrier, so it can catch the caramel. I use a cake carrier because it protects the cake. Cake needs to sit in the fridge until the flan sets. I let it sit over night. Tip: I like to spray the pan with nonstick spray after I add the flan mix. So it kinda helps with the cake part not to stick. You can also just spray it after you add the caramel to the pan. You decide 😊
