Old Bay Crispy Kale Chips

Name: Bruce Jensky
Base: Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, VA
Recipe: Now that Spring is here and we are starting to see some results from our gardens, try crunchy kale chips. They are delicious, super healthy, and easy to make. Here, on the Chesapeake Bay, we give them a little zing with Old Bay Seasoning. For even spicier chips, add a dash of cayenne pepper. Prep Time is just 5-minutes and Bake Time is 15-minutes. INGREDIENTS: 1 bunch kale, washed; 2 tablespoons Olive Oil; 1 to 3 teaspoons Old Bay Seasoning; and Sea Salt, to taste. DIRECTIONS: Step 1: Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Remove the tough stems from the kale and tear the leaves into large pieces. Place in a large bowl and toss with olive oil and season. Arrange the leaves in a single layer on a greased baking sheet. Step 2: Bake, uncovered, 10-minutes and then rotate pans. Continue baking until crisp and just starting to brown, about 15-minutes total. Let stand 5-minutes before serving. Step 3: Serve and Enjoy... But honestly, one bunch is never enough...
