We are part of the Cavalry that is recently back at Bliss, and this is a first duty station for me to be with my husband. We arrived in august of 2005 so are VERY new here. I have to say I am living in MEXICO!!! This is not a good duty station what so ever. The base is in centeral El Paso but it is not around the good side of town. It is very dirty and I hope you like dust if you are on your way here. On every corner there are bums wanting money, beer, cigs, drugs, or whatever someone will give them. I do live on post and I must say they are building some new housing, BUT if you are enlisted (even NCO's) you usually are not going to see it unless you are VERY lucky. The housing is very old and very crappy. I just hope you don't mind living with a couple cockroaches. When we first moved in there were TONS and not small either! So basically Bliss is anything but blissful and I am just SO excited to get the hell out of here in a couple more years.... Anything has to be better then this!
