My husband and I got here in August of 2006, and I HATE it here!! The base is smaller than most, and the BX is very small and limited. The Commissary is dim and always crowded, with only 2 or 4 lanes open during peak hours...and with the BX now closing at 6:30pm instead of 7 (which was still bad) as well as the commissary closing at 7pm, if we need something, we'll have to drive 15 miles into town to try and find it. There are no donut shops, limited restaurants, and almost nothing to do if you're younger, like my husband and I. The winter weather is almost unbearable, with the high winds and ice, and then the possibility that the base may be shut down due to the roads puts a damper on any plans. The only positive side to the base is that the housing is brand new, and very nice, with some units having 2 car garages. If you like the middle of nowhere with the nearest medium sized city almost 2 hours away, then this is the base for you. I cannot WAIT to PCS somewhere new!
