I HATE Fort Riley...with a passion! The people in the surrounding areas are so rude, they do not like military families AT ALL. I hate K-state, the college kids are rude and the color purple makes me want to throw up. I swear the guys try to pick fights with soldiers everywhere. It is not a very pet friendly place. And come on! Afforable housing! How long have you been gone!? We get $896...a decent house is a good $900-$1000 PLUS utilites. That is not afforable. Post housing is nice. No bugs, my husband is an E-4 so its not the best housing but it is def nicer than the crap off post. The post is BEAUTIFUL! The buildings are great, the px is ok. I think they are supposed to be building a bigger one. The commisary is at the Grant gate and the px is up on the hill...for whatever reason they did that I dont know. Milford lake is nice. This post is great during the spring and summer because thats when there is a ton to do but there isnt much indoor stuff. My husband just got orders to Fort Campbell and we cant wait! Fort Riley sucks...and dont expect much from your husbands unit if he is in the CAB...the unit and the FRG are worthless.
