Sucks

Ft Leonard Wood, MO

This is my fourth duty station with my spouse. At first I hated it. There is nothing here. Just woods. The locals cal it Ft Lost in the Woods. The name speaks for itself. Your friends become the only source of enjoyment. Dont get me wrong, there are things to do if you drive for 2 hrs to St. Louis. The only goods things about this base is you can save money because there is nothing to do. Also you will spend more time with your family because there is nothing to do. I have grown to like this place. I dont love it. The housing sucks. There is new housing being built, but there is a waiting list a mile long. The locals are ignorant, poor and racists. Good luck finding a job offpost. The "good ole boy" system is in place here.
