Fort Drum, NY - NYC, Syracuse, Canada

Fort Drum, NY

SYRACUSE: Syracuse is about 1.5 hours, 80 miles from Drum. There are jobs down there, but I dont think the drive is worth it. (for me it takes about $10 worth of gas to go there and back). NYC: New York City, what everyone thinks of when you say New York. Well the North Country is the compleate oppisite. And NYC is aprox 6-8 hours away. CANADA: Drum is only about 38 miles from the border. Soilders have to get a special class before they go though, so my husband and I havent gone yet. You can get Canadian radio stations, they are preaty good, but I get freaked out when I hear that the wheather is going to be close to 0, then I relize they mean celcius. (however it does get down to -40 with windchill up here, and thats the same F or C.....) You can also get Canadian TV up here, CKWS, the CBC. They are just like regular broadcast US stations. TV I reccomend getting cable if you watch any tv regularly. Without cable (or a dish) you can only get 1 station clearly, then 1-3 more that are fuzzy, really fuzzy.
