NAS Whidbey was one of the bases I was stationed when I was in the military. Yeah it was cold, it was in the booney as what a lot of people were saying, far from the civilization, but for me and my friends and daughter it was the best, vancouver was not far so we were always there every other weekend, my daughter loved to go to goldilocks overthere, and the china town, we frequently went to seattle, and the nearby towns. We loved the tulip festivals. The housing area was not bad, loved our place,or the places we lived even off base. I had the best landlord, Mr and Mrs. Catabay, they treated us so good. Like their own kids. Space needle the zoo, the restaurants, the malls, skiing, the mt raineir etc etc etc whatelse a lot I will love to go back and be station over there well my husband is still in the service. I am endorsing Whidbey Island to anybody. Wait ther are tons of things to do, wait.... if you love to go crabbing and fishing it is the best.
